6-9 July 2024 in Germany, organised by Institut für Achtsamkeit.
Overview of the training
In recent years, research into embodiment has expanded considerably in various fields such as. psychology, neuroscience, education and the movement arts. In mindfulness meditation, embodiment includes the perception of the body, awareness of sensations and the feeling of complete presence.
The practice of embodiment is a way of delving into a kind of knowing that is not dependent on cognitive processes alone. We sense what is in the depths of our tissues. This also enriches cognitive processes and makes them more tangible.
Participants were invited to feel that they are connecting with a deeper part of themselves, which many describe as the source of inner wisdom. They also were invited to think “outside the box” and to awaken associations that lead to new insights.
The program assumes that participants have an introduction to mindfulness, such as completing an MBSR course or other mindfulness-based methods or regularly practicing guided mindfulness meditation in a contemplative tradition.
The following themes were explored through movement and sensory exercises, group and individual dialogues, journaling, creative expression in artwork, and homework (including reflection exercises, readings, and video/audio input):
- Beginner´s Mind
- Moving from Center/Stabilization and Grounding
- Trust
- Connection and Belonging
- Awakening and Awareness
- Letting Go and Letting Live
- Just Keep Going! (Mindful Effort)
- The Precious Human Body
